Man killed at Bronville crossing near Welkom─── 10:33 Fri, 29 Jul 2011
Welkom - A man was killed when the vehicle he was travelling in was hit by a truck at the Bronville Crossing between Welkom and Virginia this morning. Another occupant of the car and the driver of the truck were uninjured. It is believed that the vehicles entered the junction simultaneously, the truck striking the car on its side and pushing it from the road. Paramedics arrived at the scene to find the truck had skidded to a halt against the car at the roadside. The driver of the vehicle was in a critical condition and was trapped in the mangled wreckage. He died before he could be transported to the hospital.
