Welkom - Five men have reportedly fled with an undisclosed amount of money after a bank was robbed in Stateway, Welkom this morning.
Free State police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng says two vehicles with Gauteng and Mpumalanga number plates respectively were seen speeding from the crime scene. Thakeng says the armed men entered the bank, and pointed security guards with firearms before robbing the bank.
Thakeng says no injuries were reported during the heist.
A white Toyota bakkie with registration number CD 36 NB GP and a Kia Sedan with an MP registration number are believed to have been involved.
