Bothaville - Wildlife experts have reassured young farmers from Free State and North West that the game industry is stable and healthy.
This was during the12th annual Senwes Future Focus Day at Nampo Park outside Bothaville, being presented this year under a theme exploring opportunities to branch out existing farming activities into the wildlife industry.
Wiaan van der Linde of Wintershoek Safaris told the audience the R20-billion wildlife industry is very healthy:

Also on the panel is Senwes Chairperson Danie Minaar, who has also branched out into wildlife in his mixed crop and livestock farming operation. Minaar says game farming slots in very nicely into the seasonal schedule:

Other panel members include young farmers involved in the industry, political commentator Piet Croucamp and Senwes agricultural economist Ramonde Odendaal.
