NEHAWU ends strike at Agricultural Research Council─── DANE BEISHEIM 14:08 Fri, 21 Jul 2017

The National Education Health & Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) has ended its strike at the Agricultural Research Council (ARC).
The strike came to an end after both parties signed a wage settlement agreement on Wednesday.
Both parties agreed to an adjustment of 6% backdated, with effect from April 1 this year.
The duration of the agreement is a single term from April 1 until March 31, 2018.
Part of the agreement is that the ARC will pay the increase together with the back pay, on and before August, 15.
NEHAWU spokesperson, Khaya Xaba, says, however, that there are some outstanding matters that need to be addressed.
