Residents in the Northern Cape still have time to apply for available state land in the province.
This, as the Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Thoko Didiza, announced that more than 12 000 hectares of state land is up for grabs by previously disadvantaged people in the Northern Cape. The Northern Cape MEC of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Land Reform and Rural Development, Mase Manopole, says anyone who qualifies can apply but preference will be given to previously disadvantaged people who are in the farming sector. She adds those who wish to apply should bear in mind that this land reform programme includes a 30-year leasehold with an option to buy. Interested residents can obtain application forms on the National Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development website or at the department's district offices. The closing date for applications is 16 November 2020.
