FS Health urges more to get vaccine jabs - VIDEO─── 15:09 Fri, 30 Jul 2021
The Free State Department of Health is inviting more people to avail themselves for jabs, to prevent severe cases of Covid-19, at the Pelonomi Hospital.
This, after the Pelonomi vaccine coordinator, Lesley Moshoke, stated that the hospital is struggling to meet its daily target of people who are expected to vaccinate. He also stated that the South African National Road Agency (Sanral) has come on board to provide some tea, coffee and cappuccino, with the hope of encouraging more people to vaccinate.
According to Moshoke, Sanral's initiative is part of celebrating Mandela Month, and by doing so, they are hoping that they will be helping the hospital to reach its target of people who should be vaccinated for the day.
"We are expecting to vaccinate plus/minus 1500 a day, but now we are vaccinating a thousand plus. We are not yet reaching our target. We would like to encourage more people, especially now that we are going to start with 35 and above, to come in their numbers and register. If you are not registered, we also register here and we vaccinate immediately," said Moshoke.
Meanwhile, the Health Department's spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, said that the department will try to get more sponsors on board in a bid to encourage more people to vaccinate. He also reiterated that more people should come through to the Pelonomi Hospital to receive their vaccine jabs. Moshoke also pleaded with more sponsors to help Free State Health.
