Inspiring and empowering the youth and emerging farmers are just some of the goals that Rethabile Ngwenya, a young farmer from the North West, is determined to achieve.

In a bid to accomplish these goals, she has approached various successful roleplayers in the agriculture space in the North West to be part of an agricultural seminar, which will be hosted next month.
The idea for the seminar was sparked by the fact that agriculture is one of the most important sectors which are relied upon to put food on families’ tables around South Africa and the world. Ngwenya says that by creating awareness among young people, she hopes to inspire them to be part of the sector.
The seminar will be taking place on 22 April at the Klerksdorp Museum.

OFM News previously reported that Ngwenya, who stays in Jouberton, currently plants and sells vegetables such as potatoes, spinach, chillies and garlic.
The Klerksdorp-born farmer started farming at the beginning of 2021 and registered her business – Reaboka Agribusiness and Projects - in April of that same year. Ngwenya also makes her own sauces from the vegetables that she grows and sells them to the public.

Attendees can look forward to a jam-packed programme which varies from motivational speakers to crops and poultry farming, amongst others.
"It is an awareness and empowerment seminar where we will be inviting emerging farmers or even those who are interested in agriculture [to come and listen and be inspired]. We will be teaching them about the importance of agriculture in the whole world," explains Ngwenya.
Tickets for the seminar is available to purchase at Remmogo Retlothlegile Burials which is close to City Mall in Klerksdorp.
