Bloemfontein - The Toyota Cheetahs have secured the services of Bulls centre Francois Venter for the next two Super Rugby seasons.
The exciting Bulls centre will make his move to central South Africa at the conclusion of this year’s Currie Cup.
Venter will replace Cheetahs vice-captain Robert Ebersohn who will resume his rugby career at Montpellier in France at the conclusion Currie Cup.
Venter is not unfamiliar with the Free State, he was schooled at Grey College before making a move to Pretoria.
Venter represented the BabyBoks during 2011 Junior World Championships in Italy along with Johan Goosen.
Venter’s school centre partner Piet Lindeque, who represented the Sharks during the Super Rugby has also made a move to Bloemfontein and will be available to play for the Free State Cheetahs when the Currie Cup kicks-off on 9 August.
The Cheetahs get their Currie Cup campaign underway when they tackle the Golden Lions at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on 10 August.
