Bloemfontein - Former Blue Bulls en Southern Kings lock, Daniel Adongo, who hails from Kenya, has decided to hang-up his rugby boots.
Adongo traded his rugby boots for shoulder-pads and a helmet when he signed a contract with the American Football side, the Indianapolis Colts.
The latest trend in the NFL is the conversion of American Sevens players into NFL players.
The Indianapolis Colts announced today they have signed the 23-year-old as an outside linebacker.
“We are excited as an organization with the acquisition of Daniel Adongo,” said Grigson. “He is not only an elite athlete and rising international rugby player, but he is an exceptional competitor and human being that has the right makeup for our sport. We all look forward to watching his growth and development in the ensuing weeks.”
It's an incredible transfer for a player who has just come off a season of Super Rugby with the Southern Kings in South Africa.
