Lambie out for at least a week─── MORGAN PIEK 14:00 Mon, 13 Jun 2016
The Springboks flyhalf, Patrick Lambie, will miss Saturday’s second test against Ireland in Johannesburg due to concussion protocol.
This comes as a precaution after the player was stretchered off the field on Saturday in their 26-20 defeat during first test at Newlands.
Lambie was knocked out when he took a blow to the head after the South African-born CJ Stander collided with the flyhalf.
The Springbok coach, Allister Coetzee, has confirmed that Lambie picked up concussion but have luckily not sustained a neck injury.
Stander picked a debatable red card for the incident and will find out later today if he will face a sanction from the sport.
Saturday’s second test at Emirates Airlines Park in Johannesburg kicks off at 17:00.
