The Springboks delivered another rock-solid performance on Saturday, running in nine tries to thrash Italy 66-7 in Turin and maintain their perfect record in the Nations Championship.

The victory at the iconic Allianz Stadium secured a maximum 20 log points from four matches, keeping the world champions firmly on track as they prepare for next weekend's highly anticipated clash against France.

South Africa had the contest all but wrapped up by half-time, heading into the changing rooms with an imposing 45-0 advantage after scoring six tries, all converted by Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who also added a penalty.

The Boks were simply too strong for the Italians, combining physical dominance up front with intelligent tactical kicking and ruthless execution whenever opportunities presented themselves.

Their driving maul proved particularly difficult for the hosts to contain, with captain Siya Kolisi and Malcolm Marx both benefiting from the forwards' dominance. Marx, the reigning World Rugby Men's 15s Player of the Year, crossed twice in an outstanding first-half display.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu also played a central role in the demolition, opening the scoring with a try before taking charge of the kicking duties. Morné van den Berg and Damian Willemse also got their names on the scoresheet as the Springboks ran rampant.

Despite the backing of a passionate home crowd, Italy struggled to make any meaningful impact. The Azzurri found themselves under constant pressure and were unable to break through a disciplined South African defence before the interval.

The pattern continued after the restart, with the Springboks showing little intention of taking their foot off the accelerator.

Prop Wilco Louw powered his way over the tryline shortly after half-time, using his strength and leg drive to extend the visitors' advantage to 52-0.

Italy eventually had something to celebrate in the 61st minute when Federico Ruzza finished off a well-executed set-piece move. Tommaso Allan added the conversion to put the hosts on the scoreboard at 52-7.

However, the response from the Springboks was swift. Paul de Villiers finished off another powerful driving maul in the 72nd minute, with Feinberg-Mngomezulu converting to push the score out to 59-7.

There was still time for one final contribution as Ethan Hooker completed a well-worked set-piece move on the stroke of full-time to secure South Africa's ninth try and round off a comprehensive 66-7 victory.

Van den Berg was deservedly named Player of the Match after an assured performance behind a dominant forward pack. His accurate kicking, sharp distribution and composure played an important role in keeping the Springbok attack ticking.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu was equally influential, finishing with 26 points after scoring a try, kicking nine conversions and adding a penalty goal.

The Springboks will now turn their attention to France, knowing that another strong performance will be needed against one of their toughest opponents in the Nations Championship.
