Eskom announced that stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented from 05:00 on Monday (3/27) until 16:00, followed by stage 3 load-shedding until 05:00 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, stage 1 load-shedding will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00 and stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented from 16:00 until 05:00.
Eskom will publish a further update as soon as any significant changes occur.
Breakdowns have increased to 15 777 MW of generating capacity, while 6 122 MW of generating capacity is out of service for planned maintenance.
Over the weekend, three generation units were returned to service at Duvha, Kendal and Kriel power stations, while a generating unit at Kendal, Kriel and Majuba Power Stations was taken offline for repairs. The delays in returning units to service at Duvha, Hendrina, Kriel, Majuba, Medupi, and Tutuka Power Stations continue.
Eskom thanks South Africans "for continuing to use electricity sparingly to help alleviate the pressure on the power system".
