Weird Wide Web - Yes, you can now build your own puppy─── 15:54 Mon, 08 Nov 2021

A company in Hong Kong has designed a robot dog that the consumer can build themselves at home and named it "Mini Pupper".
The Stanford Pupper inspired robot was designed by Hong Kong based robotics company MangDang. The idea behind it was to not only build a cheaper version of the Stanford Pupper, but a version that would be more consumer friendly as well.
According to engoo.com, "The company started raising money for the project on crowdfunding website Kickstarter in September 2021. People can buy Mini Pupper kits for as little as $254, only R3 800, if they provide other parts of the robot — like the battery — themselves. Customers can also buy a Mini Pupper that has been pre-assembled with all of the parts from $564, that’s R8 468."
"When it's fully charged, the company says Mini Pupper runs for about 25 minutes. It uses a camera sensor to detect objects and self-driving technology to move around. Additional technology can be added, such as a 3D camera, to allow the robot to detect faces and respond to hand signals."
The Mini Pupper can walk, jump and even run. Clearly more than just "creating your own dog", the Mini Pupper could also make for a good toy for your child just to start building that interest in robotics. Now the Mini Pupper might be able to do a lot of things, but like any other robot dog, we don't think it would be wise to try cuddle with it.
