Thoko Didiza, Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, gave a message of hope to commercial farmers and other roleplayers within organised agriculture despite challenges facing the industry.
Didiza spoke at Agri SA's annual conference in Pretoria yesterday, saying that drought in some areas and economic challenges should not discourage farmers. She said the fact that agriculture has been identified as one of the priority sectors by the government that can contribute to job creation is good news for farmers.
She says this provides direction to farmers as to what government stands for. OFM News' Christal-Lize Muller spoke to Didiza.
