There is enough state-owned land available in the Free State to distribute to emerging farmers.
This is according to the Premier of the Free State, Sisi Ntombela, who told OFM News at the transformation conference of the African Farmers Association of South Africa (AFASA), which was recently held outside Bloemfontein, there are also enough committed farmers in the province. She said all that the government needs to do is to assist these farmers. According to Ntombela, an audit of available state-owned land was already conducted in collaboration with the Department of Public Works and a committee was appointed that will deal with the redistribution of land in the province.
She says the redistribution process will commence soon because agriculture is the heartbeat of the province.
