“We recognise and greatly appreciate your contributions and want you to feel acknowledged.”
The Saint Andrew's School in Bloemfontein will commemorate World Health Day on Sunday 7 April 2024 by extending a heartfelt invitation to all parents who are healthcare workers, as well as healthcare professionals in and around Bloemfontein, to participate in a special chapel service.
This commemorative service is scheduled for 09:00 on Sunday at the St. Andrew's Chapel, where we will light candles to honour healthcare workers.
Furthermore, Father Ashe Steenbok will deliver a heartfelt message and blessing to acknowledge and celebrate the dedicated individuals who devote themselves to caring for others.
Ronald Rudd, the Principal of St. Andrew's, conveyed the school community's deep gratitude towards all healthcare workers for their unwavering service to the community.
“We recognise and greatly appreciate your contributions and want you to feel acknowledged. Therefore, we cordially invite all healthcare workers from the city to our St. Andrew's Chapel service,” he said.

He said it would be a special service where they will offer their blessings and prayers to the healthcare workers, present them with a small token of our appreciation, and follow up by distributing cakes to the pediatric wards of selected hospitals for the staff, families, and children in those wards to enjoy.
World Health Day is an international observance celebrated annually on 7 April, under the auspices of the World Health Organisation (WHO), among other associated entities. It was in 1948 that the WHO organised the First World Health Assembly, marking the beginning of this significant day dedicated to global health awareness.
