Urgent search for family of deceased Kimberley employee─── REFILWE BEKANE 10:00 Mon, 11 Aug 2025

A local construction company is urgently trying to locate the family of an employee who passed away on Friday (8/8) at Schweizer-Reneke Hospital.
The deceased, Marius Oosthuizen (54), had been working for the construction company MJ Brunos for the past two and a half years. According to Morake Tladi, the company’s owner, Oosthuizen collapsed on Friday and was taken to the hospital.
Oosthuizen had been battling cancer and sadly passed away later that evening, Tladi said. The company has since struggled to find any information to help them contact his next of kin.
Despite a working relationship spanning two and a half years, no details about Oosthuizen’s family or next of kin were recorded in his employment contract. Tladi said he has even approached the police in an effort to trace information about him.
The only information Oosthuizen ever shared was that he had a house in George and his family lived in the area of an old-age home.
According to Tladi, Oosthuizen’s body is currently at the government mortuary at Schweizer-Reneke District Hospital. He has appealed on social media in an effort to find the deceased’s family, but the response has been slow and has yielded no concrete leads.
Anyone with information that could help find Oosthuizen’s family is urged to phone 053 963 1291 or 061 516 1577.
