A building at a Potch school burns─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 07:53 Thu, 11 Aug 2016
Potchefstroom - A fire that broke out at the Hoër Tegniese Skool in Potchefstroom has been extinguished.
Division Officer for Operations at the Tlokwe Fire Brigade, Le-Roy Pretorius, says they were called out to the scene just after 03:00 this morning.
He says upon arrival the school's administration building with offices and the main reception area were in flames. According to him fire teams from the military and fire volunteers from the North West University's Puk campus assisted in fighting the flames.
The fire was extinguished at about 05:30. No injuries were reported. Pretorius says the cause of the fire is still unknown.
According to him, the site is cordoned off as learners already arrived for school.
