No murder charge for woman who shot 'smash-and-grabber'─── 17:21 Fri, 04 Mar 2016

Cape Town – The woman who allegedly shot dead a 16-year-old smash-and-grabber in Bonteheuwel will not face a charge of murder, Western Cape police said on Friday.
"After much consideration" police instead decided to investigate an inquest, Captain FC van Wyk said.
A woman motorist shot and killed Siphesihle Khungwana, 16, on Jakes Gerwel Drive on Monday afternoon when he smashed her car window.
She drove to the local police station and was “extremely shocked and traumatised”, Metro police deputy chief, Yolande Faro, told News24 at the time. She was given trauma counselling.
Khungwana was first arrested in September last year for another smash-and-grab and then trying to stab a metro police officer who tried to arrest him on Jakes Gerwel Drive, safety and security mayoral committee member, JP Smith, said on Wednesday.
It was the same stretch of road where he was shot dead. The officer's colleague then shot him in the hip. At the time of his death, he was wearing the same pants he wore when he was arrested in September.
