SABC presenter in FS court─── LUCKY NKUYANE 06:20 Mon, 29 Mar 2021

An award-winning Lesedi FM presenter will appear at the Bloemfontein Regional Court in the Free State on Monday to further face charges relating to tax fraud.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Phaladi Shuping, says the SABC employee, Motseki Leine, known as “Ba2cada" will appear in the regional court for the first time. This, after his case in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court was transferred to the regional court following at least two appearances.
Leine is accused of submitted false VAT returns worth more than R1,7 million between 2014 and 2018. He was caught by the Hawks after the South African Revenue Services (SARS) reported him to the authorities over suspicions of fraudulent activities.
He is out on R5 000 bail.
The Botshabelo-born presenter earlier responded to his arrest and said he will prove that he does not make a lot of money as it has been alleged.
He conceded that he has issued tax returns and added that "unfortunately as young business people, issues of tax returns are a challenge that many face".
