Ikea France has been offering busy Parisians power naps across the French capital. From August 30 to September 3, the Swedish furniture company sent out eight electric bicycles, each pulling a yellow sleeping capsule.
The capsules were called "La sieste Ikea" — or "Ikea nap." Everything needed for a comfortable rest was put inside the capsules, including Ikea pillows and blankets. The capsules had large windows, but there were curtains inside that could be closed for sleeping time. Customers could book a 30-minute nap between 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. if they posted on social media mentioning Ikea France. Once booked, the capsules promised to arrive at each person's location in half an hour or less. People could then enjoy a 30-minute nap while being pulled around the streets of Paris. Ikea cleaned the capsules and changed the bedding after every use.
