For the first time in 2022, our in house chef, Chef Maradine is back! We kick off the year with a healthy pizza recipe.
Pizza base sauce
1 tsp olive oil
2 clove garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Steps to Make It
Gather the ingredient.
Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add garlic and onion and sauté for 3 minutes, until tender, watching to make sure garlic doesn't brown.
Add tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper and bring to a simmer. Lower heat to keep at a simmer for 20 minutes, until slightly reduced and thick.
Taste and add more seasoning, if necessary.
