Weird Wide Web - No food at a wedding, and Mickey is to blame | News Article

A bride in the UK has left her wedding guests hungry after she spent all her catering budget on a Mickey Mouse impersonator.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being an adult who loves cartoons, especially if these are cartoons you watched growing up. But how far is too far for an adult in love with cartoons? Well, we think we might have found "too far".  In an article we found on mirror,  a bride who had her "dream" Disney wedding earlier this year has admitted to leaving her guests hungry after she used the £4,000 (R76 000) that was set aside for catering to fund a surprise appearance from Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

The article continues, saying the woman, 28, said on Reddit that she thought her wedding was "perfect", but she began to suspect her guests didn't feel the same way when her aunt posted on Facebook about how "disappointed" she was with the event.  She then said that some people took issue with the fact that there was no catering available at the wedding - and confessed that instead of paying for food for her guests, she had booked impersonators of the two classic Disney characters.

The bride didn't specifically state that she tied the knot at a Disney resort, but she did insist the characters were the "Disney official wedding Minnie and Mickey", which cost her an eye-watering $5,500 (roughly R85 000) for two 30-minute sessions.

In her post, she wrote: "My fiancé and I just got married two months ago and we had our dream wedding. Everything was perfect, and I mean everything. My parents and his parents helped us pay for a great chunk of the wedding so we would be debt-free and we are so eternally grateful for that.  "However, about a month and a half ago, my aunt started posting on Facebook about how disappointed she was with the whole ordeal, and a few guests sided with her."

There's absolutely nothing wrong with having a themed wedding, the issues probably begin when your guests come to celebrate your special day, but leave hungrier than they were when they arrived. It would've probably worked better if the wedding guests were informed that no food would be served. But then again, people should be allowed to do whatever makes them happy, especially on their special day. To read more on this story, click here.
