CUT students protest against on-campus exams─── 13:08 Thu, 30 Jun 2022
Many students in Bloemfontein took to the streets on Thursday, protesting against the decision of the Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State, to have exams take place on campus again.
According to a statement issued by the CUT’s branch of the South African Student Congress (Sasco), since students had their assessments take place online, it is only normal that the exams take place online as well.
Furthermore, Sasco raised the issue of student allowances not being paid out. This comes after allegations of corruption and maladministration against the CUT.
It is alleged that some students have no place to stay due to these allegations lodged against the CUT. OFM News sent an enquiry to CUT but has not received a response by the time the article was published.
