The Transnet Healthcare intervention has been warmly welcomed in North West.
The Phelophepa healthcare train, a Transnet Foundation initiative, started delivering services to the community of Rustenburg at the Transnet railway station on Wednesday (16/8). Services such as eye care, dental care, mental health services, and cancer and diabetes treatment are offered to residents for free or at a low cost.

The Head of the Transnet Foundation responsible for the Phelophepa healthcare train, Molatwane Lekhete, said they understood they needed to complement services rendered by the Department of Health throughout the country.
Patients were given food donations, blankets, and sanitary towels through collaborative work with the Al Imdaad Foundation on Wednesday, said provincial health spokesperson Tebogo Lekgethwane.
Health MEC Madoda Sambatha officially welcomed the Phelophepa train in the province, expressing appreciation for the intervention by Transnet. "This is a train that is meant to assist health service delivery throughout the country. It covers patients and elements health would have not covered.”
