Schweizer-Reyneke - A North West game farm owner has moved all the remaining rhino from his farm after two separate poaching incidents left eight of the animals dead. Braam van Greunen, owner of Hartzhoogte Game Ranch near Amalia outside Schweizer-Reyneke, says in the past three weeks eleven rhino have been shot for their horns, with only three surviving the attacks. He says two, however, are very badly wounded:
Van Greunen says he attempted to attain a permit to move the rhino after the first incident three weeks ago, but was unable to do so before the second, more deadly, incident on Thursday:
