Potchefstroom - An inquest docket has been opened following the death of an elderly woman and a young boy after their house caught fire in Klerksdorp.
Cayden Boshoff, who is eight years old and not 13 as previously reported, died at the Anncron Hospital in Klerksdorp due to smoke inhalation.
His grandmother, Fatima Gomes, was burnt beyond recognition, while his mother Monica Boshoff has been admitted to hospital for treatment.
According to North West police spokesperson Amogelang Mabihi, the cause of the blaze is still unknown.
