Six killed in Lichtenburg crash─── 05:25 Tue, 03 Jun 2014
Lichtenburg - Six people were killed in a car crash involving a police vehicle and correctional service officers in Lichtenburg, North West yesterday.
North West police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone said while details were still sketchy, a case of culpable homicide is being investigated. The accident occurred on the R503 between Lichtenburg and Mafikeng yesterday afternoon.
Reports indicated that two sedan type vehicles collided head-on at around 2pm, killing all the occupants of both vehicles.
North West premier, Supra Mahumapelo and transport minister Dipuo Peters expressed shock and sadness at the news.
