One killed, five injured in Sebokeng head-on collision─── 10:01 Mon, 08 Aug 2016

Sebokeng - A woman was killed and four other people were injured after a head-on collision between two light motor vehicles on the Golden Highway in Sebokeng.
ER24 Spokesperson, Russel Meiring, said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found one vehicle in the middle of the road and the other one was found on the side of the road.
“On inspection, paramedics found three occupants in the first vehicle and three in the second vehicle. Paramedics assessed the occupants of the first vehicle and found a woman lying motionless in the rear of the vehicle, showing no signs of life,” said Meiring.
“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the patient and she was declared dead on the scene.”
Meiring said paramedics also found two men trapped in the front of the vehicle.
“Rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life to extricate both patients from the vehicle. Once freed, paramedics found that both men were seriously injured.”
Three other occupants in the second vehicle sustained minor injuries. Paramedics treated the patients and provided advanced life support interventions for those who were seriously injured before taking them to Sasolburg Hospital.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by local authorities.
