One sentence was handed down for conspiracy to murder his wife, Tshidi Molise, in October 2015 in Lesotho. The other life sentence is for the rape of a minor from Lesotho. Provincial NPA spokesperson, Phaladi Shuping, says it has been a long road.

Judge Johann Daffue yesterday afternoon also sentenced Frederiksen to an additional 51 years in jail. He was also fined R5000 or a sentence of six months behind bars. This relates to charges of the possession and production of child pornography, contravention of the Fire Arms Act, fraud and corruption. He will serve the sentences concurrently with the two life sentences.

The 66-year-old Frederiksen, after his sentencing through a translator, said in Danish he hopes the murder of his wife, Tshidi Molise, in October 2015 in Lesotho, will be solved.

He started off by saying he would like to say a few words and it has nothing to do with being guilty or not guilty. He then apologised to his family.

Frederiksen made international media headlines in September 2015, after human tissue was found in his freezer at his townhouse in Bloemfontein.
