More than 900 000 jobs at farm level─── SABRINA DEAN 14:48 Fri, 12 Jun 2015
Bloemfontein - The agriculture sector accounts for more than 900 000 jobs at farm level, according to the first quarterly labour force survey of 2015.
FNB Agriculture head of Information and Marketing, Dawie Maree, says some 183 000 jobs were created compared to the same period last year.
He adds that this is just at farm level and excludes other spinoff jobs created through the value chain:

He warns, however, that the latest release is slightly skewed as it is the first time the results are being calculated with the updated census data.
He says forthcoming reports should provide paint a more reliable picture.
