Bloemfontein - Toyota Cheetahs have made a late forced change to Saturdays’ team to play the Sharks at Kings’ Park, Durban.
Trevor Nyakane who was replaced in the starting lineup has bene withdrawn from the matchday-22due to a hip pointer injury. Caylib Oosthuizen, formally of the MTN Lions has replaced Nyakane on the bench.
Nyakane’s injury comes as a big blow for the Cheetahs as the strong loosehead prop has been having an outstanding season thus far. Many felt Nyakane was bitterly unlucky not to get a call-up to the Springbok training group which recently gathered in Cape Town.
The Sharks coach John Plumtree wielded the axe earlier this morning when he named his matchday-22 to tackle the Cheetahs.
Springboks Jannie du Plessis and Francois Steyn were both demoted to the bench. Plumtree went as far as to say that Springbok looseforward Ryan Kankowski will not be going with the Sharks on their Australasian tour next week as he is unhappy with Kankowski’s form.
The match kick-off at 17:05 on Saturday evening.
