Former Bosasa COO makes more waves─── 09:40 Sun, 27 Jan 2019

Former Bosasa COO, Angelo Agrizzi, has alleged that his former boss Gavin Watson offered R50 million to “buy his silence” after he threatened to go public with details of alleged corruption.
City Press newspaper says it has obtained copies of emails and text messages that detail the dealings Agrizzi had with Watson.
The former has been giving his testimony before the Zondo commission over the past week, detailing how the company allegedly bribed senior officials to secure lucrative contracts.
According to City Press, Watson allegedly tried to convince Agrizzi to change his mind at a meeting on August 25, 2018.
In an email sent on August 21, Agrizzi threatened to tell all about the "corruption” at the Bosasa group of companies. Agrizzi wrote an email, declining the offer.
Bosasa spokesperson, Papa Leshabane, reportedly said the proposal did not come from the company or Watson, and that they had no knowledge of the legitimacy of it.
Meanwhile, African National Congress deputy president David Mabuza says the fact that some party officials have been implicated in state capture doesn’t mean that the governing party is guilty of wrongdoing.
SABC reports that Agrizzi implicated Environmental Affairs Minister Nomvula Mokonyane as also receiving bribes.
The company also allegedly organised former President Jacob Zuma’s 72nd birthday celebrations and paid tuition fees for ANC MP Vincent Smith’s daughter.
Speaking during the voter registration campaign in Giyani, Limpopo, Mabuza said he doesn’t believe that the allegations will affect the ANC during the elections, saying voters can differentiate between the party and individuals.
